˜Your SFBT tip for Fall 2017:
"Helping people move from problem talk to solution
We are off to a great start! We just finished a great Level One course with new Solution-Focused practitioners from across Canada.
What a wonderful learning opportunity for all of us!
Level Two will be underway in the next couple of weeks. We will then take a short break before our Winter courses commence in January 2018.
Time flies, so be sure to register soon! Remember, Social Workers will receive 10 category A credits for completion of our online courses. Of course, we continue to be supported by other professional associations, including the CCPA. Please check with your association to determine what our courses can be counted as toward your continuing professional development hours.
We look forward to "seeing" you soon!

Solution-Focused Reference Materials...
In our September Level One course, we had some excellent questions about working with an SF lens and supporting clients with addictions. This reminded us of one of the great foundational pieces we refer to: Working with the Problem Drinker: A Solution-Focused Approach by Insoo Kim Berg and Scott D. Miller (1992). It may be an older book, but it still holds many great solution-focused ideas for our work with this vulnerable population.
Dr. Alasdair Macdonald has done the significant work of managing a list of published research on Solution-Focused Brief Therapy for over 20 years! In December, he will be closing his website. All of us in the SF Community thank him greatly for the tireless work he has contributed. There are not enough words to acknowledge our appreciation to him. We strongly recommend visiting his website at http://www.solutionsdoc.co.uk/ before the end of the year.
Thank You Alasdair!
