˜Your SFBT tip for January 2015:
Clients often miss their own competence and areas of strength. When we work with our clients, we actively listen for various areas in which our clients have been successful and competent in decision–making. Congratulate and compliment your client's successes — celebrate and focus upon the progress they have made. We have found these verbal encouragements and acknowledgements are powerful elements to lead toward positive change — especially when framed with the client's language. You may also want to write a simple compliment for your clients to take with them to reflect upon between sessions.

Happy New Year!
We wish all of you a happy and successful 2015! Some of you may consider making resolutions to get this year started. Remember, if you are making positive changes for yourself, the way to begin and maintain a successful change is to take small, realistic steps toward your goal. Keep your expectations realistic and meaningful for yourself.
Reflect upon goals you have attained in the past to build on these earlier successes.
For all of you cat lovers out there, please enjoy this fun New Year's resolutions clip.

Practice, practice, practice...
We learned a while ago that while the Solution-Focused approach appears simple on the outside, developing your own style with these techniques is not as easy as it first seems! We have been studying and practising this approach for many years, and we continue to learn something new to enhance our practice. Therefore, we are offering opportunities for past participants to contact us with their questions and "brainstorm" how to continue to practice your work with a Solution-Focused stance.
